What the NAR Settlement means for Sellers

Needing to downsize? Moving for a job transfer and need to sell your home? There are a few changes taking place since the recent NAR (National Association of Realtors) Settlement. You as a seller have always had the ability to negotiate compensation. Beginning August 13, compensation offered to the Buyer’s Broker will not be advertised in MLS. This doesn’t mean that you cannot offer it; the field is just disappearing. If you do choose to offer compensation, it will need to be in writing. Because of this agreement, buyers will now have to enter into an agreement with an agent prior to viewing your home.
